Meet the team
Takayuki, our Japanese physiotherapist who graduated in 2013 from Kyoto University and completed a Master’s degree of Human Health Science in 2015 from Kyoto Graduate University. He has 6+ years of experience in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation and is a JARTA (Japanese Athletes Rehabilitation Trainer Association) Certified Sports Trainer and also trained in Functional Movement Screening Levels 1&2 and Selective Functional Movement Assessment Level 1.
Before moving to Singapore, Taka was working in both a hospital and a private orthopedic surgery clinic. At the Yukioka hospital (a general hospital in Osaka), he specialised in musculoskeletal and sports injuries, stroke, rheumatoid arthritis and was exposed to post-operative orthopedic cases such as artificial joint replacement, anterior crucial ligament reconstructions and also worked closely with athletes with their rehabilitation to return to sport. At the Aso clinic (an outpatient private clinic in Shiga), he treated all ages from children to the elderly with musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions such as neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, low back hip, knee and ankle injuries.
Taka’s interest in a physiotherapy began when he was a runner in junior high school. During training he experienced severe low back pain that he couldn't run for several months. He was treated by a physiotherapist so that he was able to run again and it was this experience that led him to decide to become a physiotherapist to help other athletes who suffer from injuries.
Over the years he has supported many athletes from track and field, baseball, soccer, lacrosse and karate as a sports trainer where he taught injury prevention and to provided rehabilitation for the athletes who have injuries. He also has experience to support the top athletic athletes, and the Japanese national beach handball team when they go abroad for training camp and international competitions.
Taka believes that a sound body and mind is not just for athletes but for everyone.
